Holiday Traditions We Love: JPG’s Festive Favorites!

The holiday season is a time for family, reflection, and cherished traditions that bring warmth to our lives. While the season may look different for each of us, there’s one thing we all share—the special rituals that make this time of year feel truly magical.

At the Jeff Probst Group, we wanted to take a moment to share the holiday traditions that mean the most to some of the members of our team. From cozy family moments to time-honored rituals passed down through generations, these traditions reflect what the holidays are all about—connection, love, and the joy of being with those who matter most.

We hope that as you read through our traditions, you’ll feel inspired to reflect on your own and maybe even start a new one this year. So, grab your favorite holiday drink, settle in, and join us as we share what makes the season special for each of us.

Josh’s Tradition: The Magic of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Josh’s holiday season is officially kicked off when he attends the annual Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert with his family. It’s a tradition he’s kept year after year, and if you’ve ever seen one of their performances, you know why it’s an event worth waiting for. With epic music, dazzling lights, and all-around holiday magic, Josh’s love for this show is a tradition that will likely live on for years to come.

Kait and Steve’s Cozy Movie Nights

For Kait and Steve, nothing says “holiday season” like a cozy night in with hot chocolate and a Christmas movie. It’s a simple tradition, but it’s one they cherish every year. Whether they’re watching a timeless classic or a newer holiday favorite, this low-key tradition gives them a chance to unwind, relax, and enjoy the magic of the season together.

Christi’s Christmas Tree Adventure

Christi’s holiday season is all about the tradition of cutting down her own Christmas tree, which her family has done every year since her twins’ first Christmas. This special ritual takes place the day after Thanksgiving, marking the start of their festive season. What makes it even more meaningful is the family tradition of adding a new garland to their tree each year! In the past, garlands were store-bought, but as soon as the kids were old enough, they began making their own–adding a personal touch to the tree that will forever remind Christi of these precious family moments.

Jeff and Cheryl’s String of Traditions

For Jeff and Cheryl, their holiday tradition is all about family bonding. Every year, they head out to cut down a live tree and decorate it together. This cherished time is spent listening to Christmas music, sipping eggnog, and of course, enjoying Christmas Vacation. On Christmas morning, they enjoy a big family brunch with just their immediate family, followed by a slow-paced gift opening where they can really enjoy each present without feeling rushed. The evening is wrapped up with their favorite Christmas movie, Muppet Family Christmas, while snuggled up by the fire with a warm drink. And of course, no holiday season is complete without their annual drive-through lights trip, complete with the usual put stop for Abe to find a spot to relieve himself (much to the amusement of everyone stuck in traffic!).

Brad’s Christmas Eve Feast

Brad’s holiday tradition is all about the food. Every Christmas Eve, he prepares a steak dinner with beef tenderloin, twice-baked potatoes, asparagus, and rolls–capped off with chocolate chip cookies for dessert. After the feat, the kids get to open one present, adding a touch of excitement to the evening. It’s a simple tradition, but one that makes Christmas Eve feel extra special.

Victoria’s New Family Traditions

Growing up, Victoria had the tradition of opening one gift on Christmas Eve (which, of course, turned into multiple)–always a highlight of her holiday season. Her stepmom also fills the stockings with the best goodies, and those were always the most anticipated part of Christmas morning. Now, as a grown-up with her own family, Victoria is excited to create new traditions. While her little family hasn’t fully developed their traditions yet (her daughter turned one this year), she’s eager to build them and create magical memories for the next generation.

As you can see, the holidays mean something to each member of our team, whether it’s a festive concert, a cozy movie night, or a meal shared with loved ones. These traditions bring us closer together, and we hope they inspire you to celebrate in your own unique way.

We’d love to hear about your favorite holiday traditions–share them with us on social media and tag us! From all of us at the Jeff Probst Group, we wish you a warm and wonderful holiday season full of love, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime.
