What’s their secret to success? Well, it’s all about crafting the perfect cup of joe. Ghostlight takes pride in serving up top-notch craft coffee, espresso, tea, and scrumptious baked goods – all made fresh. Their dedication to quality and flavor has made them a beloved fixture in the local community. Since 2011, they’ve been your go-to neighborhood coffeehouse in the heart of Dayton’s Historic South Park district.
But Ghostlight didn’t stop at just one location. In 2019, they expanded into their Midtown spot, where they added a breakfast and lunch menu to their repertoire. Then, in 2022, they decided to spread even more coffee joy by setting up shop at the 2nd Street Market. There, you can savor their made-from-scratch pastries, bagels, sandwiches, and soups – all prepared with the same commitment to excellence.
But wait, there’s more! In 2023, Ghostlight Coffee continued its coffee conquest by opening its doors at Cross Pointe Center in Centerville. That’s right – even more caffeine goodness to go around! And if that weren’t enough, they unveiled GATHER by Ghostlight, a groundbreaking concept that marries coffee culture with the tradition of European apéro. This brand-new café within the Dayton Arcade complex is a place where you can enjoy the best of both worlds, morning, afternoon, and even into the night.
So, what’s brewing next for Ghostlight Coffee? Well, they’ve got a few tantalizing surprises up their sleeves, and you won’t want to miss a sip of it. Whether you’re in for a quick caffeine fix, a cozy catch-up with friends, or a productive work session in their inviting atmosphere ???, you’re in for a treat.
So, what are you waiting for? Let’s share the love for Ghostlight! ?

What do you love about Dayton?
Community! Dayton has a unique sense of community. The city has really come together to make downtown a better place and we are honored to be a part of that.
This month’s #LocalBusinessSpotlight has been a #DaytonStaple since 1960 ?.
?? If you’ve got a soft spot for delicious treats that put a smile on your face, then you already know about Dayton’s beloved treasure – Bill’s Donut Shop ! ? And hey, with school back in session, who wouldn’t appreciate a little extra help in the breakfast department, or even an afternoon snack? ?
Since 1960, Bill’s has been the go-to destination for mouthwatering donuts, pastries that are pure perfection, and coffee that kickstarts your day. Originating right in the heart of downtown Dayton, Bill and Faye Elam whipped up their magic, spreading the joy of their delectable creations. ?
Fast forward to the 70’s ⏩ Bill’s was on a roll with multiple locations across Dayton, gracing the likes of Vandalia, Wilmington, Kettering, and Huber Heights. But like the most delicious recipe, they decided to focus all their sweetness in one spot, the iconic Centerville location that we’ve all come to know and love. ?❤️
In 1995, the legacy passed from the founders to their children, Lisa and Jim. And guess what? They’ve been pouring love, warmth, and that special touch into every donut since! ✨
When Lisa was asked about the secret to their sweet success, she spilled the rainbow sprinkles, saying, “We know many of our customers by name, we’re very family oriented.” ?????
But hold on, there’s more! In recent years, Lisa and Jim have added their own modern twists to the classic menu. Danishes that dance on your taste buds, buckeyes that’ll make you swoon, cupcakes that are pure bliss, cookies that melt hearts, and cappuccino that’s basically a hug in a mug. ☕?
Bill’s isn’t just a business; it’s a timeless part of Centerville’s history. ? Let’s all raise an apple fritter donut to the memories made, and the ones yet to come. Here’s to many more years of Bill’s serving up joy on a plate! ?
Who are you?
I am Lisa Tucker, co-owner of Bill’s Donut Shop!

We are a different and unique boxing gym. We are trying to change the perception of boxing as a sport only for tough or mean people, to what really is: boxing is probably one of the most complete training in all sports. Who are you?
Old Scratch Pizza is a business. More specifically, a restaurant business. There are certainly
easier ways to make a living, but we like this one, and we like to surround ourselves with others
who feel the same. In 2016, we opened Old Scratch because it was the kind of restaurant we
wanted to bring our own family. A restaurant that was very casual, but with super-premium
ingredients and exceptional service. Old Scratch currently has three locations – Downtown Dayton, Centerville, and the newly opened Beavercreek restaurant. Old Scratch is in the process of opening a fourth location in
Troy, OH, slated to open in the summer of 2023.
What do you do?
Old Scratch Pizza serves world class Neapolitan-style pizzas (with a midwestern twist), creative
wood-fired vegetables, fresh salads and appetizers, and a large selection of regional craft
beers. With a focus on quality, hospitality, and innovation Old Scratch strives to be a leader in
the local and regional restaurant community.
What makes your business special?
Old Scratch’s charitable fund, Cones for a Cause, has donated over $172,000 to local
non-profits since it began in 2016. Cones for a Cause is a community-powered charitable
organization that provides support and enacts positive change in the Greater Dayton and
surrounding areas through awarding micro-grants. The fund is supported by Old Scratch guests. Encouraged to make donations, by way of sweet treats, our customers contributed over $36,000 to the Cones for a Cause fund in 2022 alone! Local non-profits can submit grant applications on a rolling basis at oldscratchpizza.com/giving
What do you love about Dayton?
Dayton is a resourceful city. People create businesses, art, and social programs in untapped
areas of the city from very modest starting points. And, of course, without Dayton and its
residents, there would be no Old Scratch. We continued to be amazed and thankful for the
support and encouragement from our community.
